Jessmynda Dosch was adopted transracially out of foster care when she was 18 years old. She was in foster care from about two months until age 18 and moved between different families and members of her birth family. She had some contact with her birth mother until she was 12 years old when her birth mother relinquished her parental rights. She is one of 13 siblings on her birth father’s side and has two siblings on her birth mother’s side; she has contact with many of them.
