Pat Irwin Johnston, MS, is a member of a family touched by adoption (birth parent, adoptive parents and adoptees) over five generations and counting. She has been an infertility and adoption educator and advocate for over 35 years. She has authored several books, the most recent being Adopting: Sound Choices, Strong Families (2009) and Adoption Is a Family Affair! What Relatives and Friends Must Know (revised, 2012.) She retired at the end of 2011 as founding publisher of Perspectives Press: The Infertility and Adoption Publisher.
