Carmen Knight has dedicated almost two decades to supporting families through counseling and education. As an adoptive parent counselor for 10 years at The Cradle, she guided hopeful adoptive parents through the emotional and complex adoption process. Currently, she is The Cradle’s Community Engagement Specialist, educating professionals — including social workers, nurses, case managers, counselors, among others — on how to best support parents considering an adoption plan, as well as adoptive families and adopted persons. Carmen also hosts trainings for parents and their communities, equipping them with the skills to help their children thrive, helping them navigate adoption-related challenges.

Passionate about advocacy and education, Carmen is committed to ensuring that all families receive the guidance and resources they need. Carmen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science education and secondary education from Knox College and a Master of Science degree in marriage and family therapy from Edgewood College.
